West Covina Buddhist Temple invites everyone to our upcoming lecture series, "Buddhism and Zen: The Teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and Dogen Zenji" Lectures are open to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike and will be held at West Covina Buddhist Temple (map). Our lecturer will be Bishop Daigaku Rummé. Rummé-sensei was born in Iowa in 1950, and was ordained a Soto Zen monk by Harada Sekkei Roshi in 1978. He practiced under Harada Roshi in Japan for 27 years. In 2003, he moved to San Franciso, where he worked at the Soto Zen Buddhism International Center for seven years. Since 2010, he has been the Director of the Soto Zen Buddhism North America Office, and the head priest of Zenshuji Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles. There is a nominal fee of $40 for the full series.
